White Bean Dip

Ingredients Amount / Measure Notes
  • Beans, great northern, mature seeds, canned, low sodium drained 3/8 #10 can
  • Peppers, chili, green, canned ‎ 3 tbsp., 2 5/8 tsp. ‎
  • Garlic, raw ‎ 1 1/2 tsp.
  • Lemon juice, raw ‎ 1 tbsp., 2 7/8 tsp. ‎
  • Spices, chili powder ‎ 1 1/2 tsp.
  • Spices, cumin seed ground 1 1/2 tsp.
  • Oil, olive, salad or cooking ‎ 3 tbsp., 2 5/8 tsp. ‎


INSTRUCTIONS


  • Drain beans.  Reserve juice.  In a bowl of a food processor, combine half of the beans, chili peppers,garlic, lemon juice, chili powder, and cumin.
  • Add 1/4 cup of reserved juice to smooth out.
  • Continue with other half of beans, chili peppers, garlic, lemon juice, chili powder and cumin.
  • Add 1/4 cup of reserved juice to the other half and blend
  • With the motor running add 1/2 of the oil to the first half of bean mixture.  Do the same thing withthe other half of bean mixture.
  • Serve with pita bread or tortilla chips if desired.
