  • Chickpeas (garbanzo beans, bengal gram), mature seeds, canned, drained, rinsed in tap water ‌ 1 lbs., 4 1/2 oz. ‌
  • Spices, pepper, black ‌ 3/8 tsp. ground ‌
  • Garlic, raw ‌ 1 tbsp., 2 7/8 tsp. ‌
  • Lemon juice from concentrate, bottled, REAL LEMON ‌ 1/3 c., 2 3/4 tsp. ‌
  • Seeds, sesame butter, tahini, from roasted and toasted kernels (most common type) ‌ 2 oz.
  • Beverages, water, tap, municipal ‌ 3 tbsp., 2 5/8 tsp. ‌
  • Oil, olive, salad or cooking ‌ 1 tbsp., 2 7/8 tsp. ‌
  • Salt, table ‌ 1/8 tsp.


INSTRUCTIONS


  • Drain and rinse chickpeas.
  • Combine 1/3 ingredients at a time in food processor. Add liquids first. Puree until smooth. Add all batches to a large mixing bowl and stir to combine. Adjust seasoning as necessary.
  • Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes before serving.
